Does Braille.tools support Grade 1 and Grade 2 braille?
Yes. Braille.tools supports English Unified English Braille in Grade 1 and contracted Grade 2 for both text-to-braille and braille-to-text workflows.
Can Braille.tools translate braille from a photo?
Yes. The image reader detects braille cells in photographs and scanned images, then translates the detected braille. Image angle, lighting, contrast and dot visibility affect recognition, so detected cells remain editable for review.
Can it convert PDF or DOCX files into braille?
Braille.tools can extract text from supported PDF and DOCX files, restore document structure where possible, translate the content and generate reviewable output. Complex layouts and scanned pages may require correction before publication.
Is the output ready for professional publication?
Braille.tools provides automated translation, back-translation and verification information. Professional publication, signage, legal, medical and safety-critical output should still be reviewed by a qualified braille transcriber or accessibility specialist.
How does Braille.tools handle uploaded content?
